Public electronic music in Brazil grew by 56.64% at 1 year, study says


The audience for electronic music grew 56.64% in Brazil in 2011, reaching 19.5 million people, due to increased holding of festivals and tours of international artists pointed study released on Wednesday (15).


The collection at the box office of the festivals of electronic music has evolved in the same proportion, reaching R $ 879 million, said a survey made by the organizers of the festival Rio Music Conference, taking place in the next two weekends in Rio de Janeiro.


The expenses of participants in these events with food and drink also grew 115.4% per year, reaching R $ 1.07 billion. The expense of the DJs fee increased 79.9% to R $ 97.8 million, adding the main events in the country. But the artists of the great festivals can reach $ 150,000 in small parties and £ 1500 on average.


The sponsors, especially beverage companies have invested in these events R $ 460.8 million, 60% more than in the previous year. The fourth part of the public in electronic music focused in Sao Paulo, home to the biggest parties and the major clubs in the country.


The study recorded three major festivals, events of 16 medium and 500 small parties, held in major Brazilian clubs.


Throughout the year, Brazil received the festival Creamfields, Ultra Music Festival and Rock in Rio, who dedicated a stage to this genre in its six days of concerts and other events such as parties Planet Earth, and XXXperience SWU.


Among the international DJs who led the country played at pickups are David Guetta, Ferry Corstern, Sven Väth, Erick Morillo, Fatboy Slim, Bob Sinclair, Armin van Buuren, The Prodigy and Nalaya.


This year, it is foreseen that the Brazilian version of the Spanish Sónar festival in May in Sao Paulo, and Rio Music Conference, taking place during the carnival in Rio de Janeiro and is projected to receive 40,000 people in its ten days of festivities.
